Hi, I’m Yashica Lind. I’ve been a nurse since 2005 starting off my career in the ER and have served as a Naval Officer (Wartime during OIF/OEF). During that time, I taught classes on Resilience, Stress Management, and keeping the mission and the vision during the War in addition to hard skills centered on job expertise. This sparked my passion for coaching and mentoring which lead me to train hundreds of men and women all over the world, even after my honorable discharge. I've worked for and won awards for my collaboration with world class healthcare organizations all over the world from top International Hospitals to Kaiser Permanente in the Pacific NW. My Masters in Clinical Leadership and my MBA has allowed me to collaborate on cutting edge projects ranging from operational improvements, large scale technology roll-outs, acquisition management, quality improvement, Covid readiness, and more.
I was responsible for one of the nation’s only ambulatory RN Residency programs implemented to assist new ambulatory RNs with assimilation into the organization while also contributing to workforce planning initiatives. These efforts resulted in a 300% increase in enrollment with a retention rate of over 90% of new RNs hired through the residency. I helped implement systemwide technology improvements such as a new secure messaging department and was then recruited to be the strategic, operational and administrative leader which resulted in a decreased provider workload of 75%, saving time and money. As an executive in key matters concerning community health, I've improved the delivery of healthcare to vulnerable populations, increasing care compliance by threefold while also effectively managing large contracts, thereby saving organizations millions of dollars. In 2019, I founded Yashica Lind Coaching & Consulting, a coaching and consulting firm that provides consulting for major healthcare organizations as well as VIP coaching and corporate training for women that work in healthcare leadership. As a top healthcare consultant, I've advised top healthcare organizations around the world to analyze their processes in order to increase efficiencies without sacrificing quality. I collaborate with leadership to identify problem areas and propose solutions that increase profitability and improve operational success.
Across all of this experience, I’ve seen the mounting challenges in healthcare to keep the population healthy grow in complexity. Leaders are required to be more agile than ever, but they feel like they are drowning without a compass. This leads to stress, burnout, and I've noticed that the passion they had to want to help people and become better leaders erode. When this happens, departments suffer, key leaders step down or leave, which not only impacts the bottom line, it also listically impacts the culture of the organization. You can’t pour from any empty cup.
As organizations are stretched thin, leaders are hired for roles and lack proper preparation. Not only are they inevitably headed for burnout, but this lack of training leads to lower employee morale, lower levels of employee engagement, lower confidence among employees, a lack of trust within the organization and missed revenue targets according to a recent study.
My passion is in empowering healthcare leaders from the inside out to feel more confident and capable while creating leaders that are high performers that are invested in their success as well as effectiveness and efficiency of their organization simultaneously.
